This summer Viking has welcomed American travelers back to a reopened Europe. The CDC has ranked Iceland and Malta as “Level 1” or the lowest for risk of COVID-19, and these are two main destinations for the cruise line’s Welcome Back voyages.

Viking Is Now Sailing In Europe
Viking launched its restart in May. As you would imagine demand for summer travel is at all time high following the pandemic. But there still some dates available in summer and early fall 2021 on the Welcome Back cruises. Here is a look at some of the cruises still available.
The line’s Ocean Departures include Malta & Adriatic Jewels which is an 11 day trip from Valletta and includes Croatia, Montenegro and Malta. Guests can expect to be enthralled by fascinating sights as they take in the rolling landscapes and ancient architectural treasures along Adriatic shores. Sailing dates are from July through October 2021.
Secondly, Malta & the Western Mediterranean is an 11 day cruise from Valletta (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to Italy, Spain & Malta. Guests will enjoy the sights along the stunning Amalfi Coast, visit ancient Rome and take in Barcelona’s art and architecture. Sailing dates are in September and October 2021.
The third cruise is Malta & Greek Isles Discovery, 11 days from Valletta including Greece & Malta. Rhodes’ Palace of the Grand Masters plus the Parthenon in Athens are on tap as well as the delights of Crete and Santorini. Sailing dates are July through September 2021.
Next is Iceland’s Natural Beauty, an 11 days Reykjavik to Reykjavik tour that allows travelers a peek into coastal towns, and views of magnificent cascading waterfalls amid pristine fjord landscapes. Sailing dates are July through September 2021.
Last is the Bermuda Escape an 8 day journey from Hamilton to Hamilton. Guests can visit St. George’s, the oldest settlement in the New World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site plus take in a sunset cruise by catamaran or unwind with a round of golf. Sailing dates are June through
August 2021.
Viking Offer Several River Voyages
Vikings river voyages include the Rhine Getaway, an 8 days Amsterdam to Basel adventure. The Middle Rhine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site plus guests will sample the region’s renowned white wines and enjoy the culinary traditions of Alsace. From Amsterdam and Cologne to Basel, the journey is soaked in beauty and culture. Sailing dates are July through December 2021.
Next, Portugal’s River of Gold is a 10 day Lisbon to Porto route. Travelers will experience the vibrant town of Lisbon, plus Coimbra, Portugal and Salamanca, Spain with plenty of traditional cuisine, wine and fado singing to be had! There is a cruise of the Douro River Valley, and a hotel stay in Lisbon. Sailing dates are July through October 2021.
The third tour is Paris & the Heart of Normandy, an 8 day Paris to Rouen to Paris experience that includes Giverny, Claude Monet’s residence, plus the path of Joan of Arc in Rouen. Normandy’s American Military Cemetery and World War II beaches are also on tap. Sailing dates are July through December 2021.
The Lyon & Provence trip is an 8 day Avignon to Lyon voyage and includes Les Arènes amphitheater and the Pont du Gard plus Avignon’s Palace of the Popes. You can even hunt for truffles and see how chèvre cheese is made. Sailing dates are July through November 2021.
Last is France’s Finest a 15 day trip from Paris to Avignon. Guests will see Normandy’s World War II beaches, experience Paris’s sophistication and taste Lyon’s culinary heritage. This is a 15-day journey that combines the Paris & the Heart of Normandy and Lyon & Provence cruises into one. Sailing dates are in August and September 2021.
The Welcome Back voyages feature Viking’s industry-leading health and safety program that is grounded in scientific research. All guests and crew will receive frequent quick and easy non-invasive saliva PCR tests and new air purification technology has also been installed on all Viking ships.
